Job Description
Eaton located in Milton is looking for a Mechanical Assembler
 
Primary Function
Reporting to the Production Manager this position is responsible for working in a team to produce high volume loadcenter devices. They will be required to be able to perform all operations needed to produce the parts from start to finish in a station build assembly line. They will share in handling all materials used in the cell and the movement of finished devices to designated areas.
 
Job description
  • Check parts picked/delivered to parts required. Resolve discrepancies, if any, with supervisor when required.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN system.
  • Assemble components ensuring proper torque of bus and phase connectors.
  • Apply consistency in assembly method for units or the same order.
  • Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly
  • Work to CSA, UL code and company quality requirements.
  • Work to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instruction from Management or Engineering to established procedures.
  • Use various fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.
  • Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S.
  • Assist team in achieving plant and department goals.
  • Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement.
  • Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Participate in Lean manufacturing at a departmental level through the use of lean tools and philosophies.


Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Experience/Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to perform standard work procedures and processes.
Asset
  • Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools an asset.
