Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
This position requires knowledge of residential circuit breaker design , testing techniques for the product and the UL standards that affect them. This position has the day to day control of professionals and hourlies working as a team to support product performance and support factory operations in molding, stamping and component assembly from a design perspective.
A. Performs varied and at times difficult work requiring the application of standard engineering techniques related to small electro mechanical product.
B. Working with readily available data resources applies standard practices in limited situations, which require some use of judgment in selecting alternatives of residential breaker design.
C. Problems are solved through application of prescribed engineering methods.
D. Tasks are of a routine nature and include design and modification, experimentation and analysis, documentation, specification, test criteria, etc., chiefly for existing products or processes.
E. Lead the team in a specific phase of a broader engineering assignment assisted, as needed, by a few technical support personnel.
F. Coordination of effort with engineering units outside the department may be required to a lesser degree.
G. Failure of results may cause project delays or cost overruns.
H. Responsible to learn, understand and show commitment to the MESH Program, complying with all the goals and objectives established.
I. Manage the performance and provide career development opportunities to all the employees within the Design Engineering function of the organization.
J. Participate as an equal member of the leadership team in the advancement of the organization in the Eaton Business Excellence Assessment Process, including Certification and the pursuit of the Award, using the Eaton Business Excellence Assessment Criteria. Functions as a member of various cross-functional teams and facilitates the needs of various production teams.
K. Analyze key organizational Design Engineering metrics related to the Balanced Scorecard and perform periodical reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at an operational level.
I. Other functions as assigned.
o Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.
o 8 years of experience minimum in manufacturing engineering
o Two years of experience minimum as a manager of people.
o A demonstrated knowledge of residential circuit breaker design
