Eaton is looking for a Lead Tax Analyst. The Lead Tax Analyst will be located in our Cleveland, OH facility.
The Eaton Tax Operations group is responsible for all U.S. federal tax filings and worldwide compliance with ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes. The Lead Tax Analyst will assist all U.S. federal functions within Tax Operations. Primary responsibilities involve analysis and preparation of the research & experimentation tax credit, preparation of various U.S. federal income tax returns in a manner that both complies with the law and minimizes Eaton’s tax costs, tax research and analysis, and assistance with and/or ownership of various ad hoc tax and process improvement projects and initiatives. The Lead Tax Analyst will also assist in quarterly preparation of ASC 740 calculations for various U.S. subsidiaries.
Assist in analysis, calculation, and documentation of Eaton’s research & experimentation tax credit.
Support Eaton’s federal audit managers in the defense of federal returns on audit.
Monitor the development of federal tax law changes and assists with modeling and analyzing the potential impact to Eaton’s overall tax footprint.
Prepare various tax adjustments used in the calculation of federal taxable income. These adjustments will include challenging calculations necessary for Eaton’s complex business model.
Prepare various federal corporate and partnership income tax returns.
Assist in quarterly preparation of ASC740 calculations for various US subsidiaries.
Perform federal tax research as needed to ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or economics from an accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years accounting or tax experience required.
No relocation offered; candidate must reside within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH to be considered
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship
Previous tax compliance experience and R&D tax credit experience is highly preferred
CPA is desirable.
Strong knowledge of federal income tax law and US GAAP accounting.
Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills including strong written communication skills to support the preparation of tax returns and financial reports.
