Senior Manager EMEA Procurement Engineering & Should Costs

 

Location: Hungary - Budapest

 

The position leads the development, management and oversight of standard supply chain processes and develops Electrical Sector EMEA strategies for VAVE and Should Cost. Position is accountable for effectively implementing Eaton’s EMEA strategy and managing measurable results. 

 

This role will serve as the EMEA Electrical Regional Leader for VAVE and Should Cost.  This person will be responsible for leading the Procurement Engineering Team in the creation and execution of the Electrical VAVE and Should-Cost Pipeline. The leader will oversee the team in the execution, will work with all of the Engineering- and Operations Leaders and all VP/GMs in EMEA to ensure the region successfully meets its annual VAVE productivity goals. Furthermore this role has the responsibility to manage new programs (NPD) from the design phase to production to meet all program timing, cost, and quality requirements from a supply chain perspective.

 

The incumbent will be leading the Should Cost implementation in the region and aligns all support from HCL with the business.  Creates a training and execution plan around the should cost “fact packs” and how they are to be used to drive strategic, data driven, negotiations with suppliers.  Will be seen as the key team player in the eyes of the Operations and Engineering Directors within the businesses regarding MSC’s support and leadership of the VAVE process.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

 

  • Leads the EMEA VAVE and Procurement Engineering function and creation of the EMEA Electrical cost-out pipeline.
  • Drives Should Cost analysis across EMEA in conjunction with HCL and the Businesses for Electrical EMEA to ensure a strong pipeline on cost savings will be build.
  • Develops a strategy to insource HCL competencies into our own organization to be able to have our own  Should Cost capabilities in working with the Pune Supply Chain SSC as well as the Pune Engineering center.
  • Manages NPD from the design phase until Go to Market from a Supply Chain perspective, to ensure on-time launch at the right quality and cost level are met.
  • Holds supplier TecDays with Engineering to be able to see the latest developments in the Market from an engineering perspective to be able to react quickly in case of changes in material or design.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to business problems, independently and through high performance cross-functional teams.
  • Benchmarks procurement engineering processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management.
  • Creates alignment between Operational Leaders, Engineering Leaders and the procurement organization. Business Liaison for EMEA.
  • Manages NPD from the design phase until Go to Market from a Supply Chain perspective, to ensure on-time launch at the right quality and cost level are met.
  • Holds supplier TecDays with Engineering to be able to see the latest developments in the Market from an engineering perspective to be able to react quickly in case of changes in material or design.




Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Preferred MBA or specialized Master’s degree in Procurement related studies with ten plus years’ experience in commodity management or fifteen plus years of actual supply chain work experience.
  • Is an acknowledged expert in identifying and understanding current trends in supply chain management specific to services, direct and /or indirect materials.
  • Exhibits excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, (internal and at the suppliers), operations and supply chain management personnel.
  • Demonstrates ability in strategic process creation and implementation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully deploying commodity strategies and driving cost-out.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional/global teams in the development, implementation, and achievement of business results for cross-functional business initiatives and commodity strategies.
  • Must be able to take a leadership role in driving change in the organization.
  • Creative thinker and have a vision of how to drive the organization to the next level of strategic commodity management.
  • Has demonstrated ability in the area of strategic process creation and implementation
  • Demonstrates a bias for action and implementation
  • Must be able to identify and implement emerging supply management tools.
  • Global business experience is required with experience in negotiating with global suppliers.
  • Must have the ability to directly lead and manage senior level people within the organization
