PRIMARY FUNCTION: Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
This position works in a high-paced job shop environment. The Tool room Supervisor must work closely with other manufacturing departments and material planners to manage changing priorities. Basic responsibilities include: manage environment and training to eliminate hazards and accidents, maintain morale to ensure positive employee relations and supervise and direct work of the tool room employees.
A. A. Manage the daily activities of the tool room employees. Maintain metrics to ensure excellent levels of performance are known and improved upon.
B. Ensure that equipment is available and implemented safely to effectively and efficiently conduct business. Utilize appropriate processes, equipment, and human resources required to meet organizational and department goals; focuses time, energy and resources on the most critical activities.
C. Implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits and employ effective leadership techniques and employee relation’s activities to ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees.
D. Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service and continuous improvement in operating profits. This process should be in support and aligned with criteria defined by standards including ISO 9002, ISO 14001, Eaton Business Excellence, MESH, LEAN and other Eaton programs for the application of world class manufacturing principles.
E. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key external and intra-company contacts. Proactively build effective working relationships between manufacturing departments and material planners.
F. Proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment through leading by example, anticipating potential accidents and taking corrective actions prior to incidents, to assure a safe and healthful workplace.
G. Regularly communicate and demonstrate the Eaton best practices, ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization. Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals and philosophy and encourages continuous improvement and builds customer relationships.
H. Manage performance of direct reports. Counsel and discipline employees as necessary. Develops, motivates and coaches team members; acts as an employee advocate and interviews potential new hires. Assist in the creation of training plans and programs, and promotes cross-training opportunities.
I. Actively participate in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization. Provide the atmosphere, leadership, innovation and working environment to support actions in the work place to reduce cost of manufacture and increase factory efficiency.
J. Translate and reinforce the group vision and the local business plan into understandable terms for employees, and link day-to-day individual & group activities to plan outcomes.
K. Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
L. Revise production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. Consult with engineering personnel all modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
M Hand on ability to troubleshoot equipment related to punch press/molding.
BS. In Industrial, Mechanical,Tooling Engineering or Tool & Die Degree Education
Strong background in tool and dies maintenance
Detailed knowledge on construction of tools and dies
Minimum five years’ experience in similar roles
