Job Description

Reporting directly to the Reynosa Plant Manager and functionally to the Filtration Division Global Materials Manager, the Supply Chain Manager has direct responsibility for leading and facilitating all supply chain management elements for Eaton’s Filtration Division Reynosa, Mexico plant, including: purchasing, planning, scheduling, logistics, transportation and warehouse / inventory management.  In addition to having functional oversight responsibilities, the Supply Chain Manager will also liaison with local and Divisional leadership to champion process and systemic continuous improvement initiatives for the supply chain function that support Filtration and Hydraulics Group supply chain strategies and ensure that a consistent approach is used and ties into business goals and strategies.


His / her main responsibilities will be:

  1. Coordinate, lead and facilitate materials management and procurement activities
  2. Direct management and supervision of plant purchasing, materials, logistics and warehouse personnel (including oversight of the Pharr distribution center)
  3. Provides functional leadership and guidance to plant materials and purchasing personnel in areas of sales forecasting, capacity planning, production planning/scheduling, inventory management, and customer service
  4. Defines IT and support tool needs to provide supply chain personnel with information to drive materials management practices/processes
  5. Champions the plant SIOP process
  6. Facilitates the Reynosa Plant Materials Review Board (MRB)
  7. Together with division leadership, define and provide plant procurement and materials strategy
  8. Ensures that the ongoing approaches used across the supply chain function are consistent with divisional practices and synergized to ongoing business and materials management goals and objectives
  9. Champions ongoing continuous improvement initiatives designed to consistently move the team “to the next level” and which are in support of broader Eaton and Hydraulics Group materials management strategies and practices
  10. Defines and deploys initiatives to improve the skill sets of local SCM professionals
  11. Provides leadership and support for plant materials cost out activities
  12. Support initiatives to improve EHS culture; maintain C-TPAT certification; achieve near misses goal and comply with all regulations applicable to the business in materials matters
  13. Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost out and/or demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve or business goals and/objectives
  14. Participate in PROLaunch as DGC member when required
  15. Other duties, as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
  • Basic Requirements:
    • Bachelor degree in business administration or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
    • 2-3 years of experience in leading supply chain teams, with experience in developing and coaching teams
    • Experience in MRP, MPS, Min / Max, and other basic supply chain / materials management tools
    • Fluency in English and Spanish
      Preferred Requirements:
    • APICS CPIM certification
    • Prior experience with MFGPro
    • Prior manufacturing / plant experience in supply chain in an industrial setting
    • Prior exposure to Lean / Continuous Improvement with demonstrated results
    • Intermediate-to-advanced skills in various analysis tools, such as MS Excel
    • Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
    • Demonstration of appropriate “soft skills:” effective communication, interpersonal relationship and conflict management skills, with the ability to navigate the organization effectively for results
    • Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills
    • Working knowledge of supply chain and materials management best practices and tactics
