The primary function is to provide pre-sales technical and application support, quotation, and product selection assistance to customers, field sales, channel partner for a designated portfolio as well as troubleshooting product problems/warranty, and application assistance received via phone, email, fax or Web. Partner with field sales to support and influence designated sales goals.


Essential Functions:

  • Proactively acts to understand and solve customer needs and identify solutions to non-standard task/queries

  • He/she is the point of reference for customers in case of customer requiring technical expertise

  • He/she can have a limited supervisory role to support the CS Team Leader/Manager

  • He/she is accountable for a sales target to start and takes direct ownership for selected customers

  • Provides Sales with process and system training. Communicates changes in responsibilities and Organization

  • Contract review preparation for small customers

  • Assist in sales increase by proactive preparation and follow up of quotations, assists in clarification of price

  • discrepancies

  • Arrange setting up of new part numbers, ready for customer order

  • Advice and selection of available products / part numbers for distributors – help in guiding them to available products

  • Spares pricing for OEM’s / missing prices

  • Proactively communicates in a timely manner with external customers about order verification. (status, pricing and shipment). Communicates in a timely manner with operations to verify lead times, schedule customer orders according to their delivery needs and communicate special handling requests.

  • Applies extensive knowledge of business processes and systems to excel at the following: expedite orders to prevent customer line downs or machine downtime; process emergency and/or expedited orders and shipments in a timely manner; provide customers and/or distributors with product information

  • Participates in cross functional company-wide business process improvement teams to resolve recurring customer issues and also responsible for maintaining processes and process flows. Includes also participation in business development projects.

  • Accepts and processes  sales order schedules and also discrete orders, following established business rules.  Generates non designed MPS (Marketing Product Specification) requests as required.

  • Enters new sales order schedules  and also discrete orders from customers through multiple order entry systems, with emphasis on error-free order management and same-day order entry. Enters changes and cancellations from customers for order schedules through multiple order entry systems, using established business rules.  Emphasis is on error-free order management and same-day order entry. Monitor EDI error log and maintains in multiple systems

  • Processes blanket orders from customer accounts and validates the blanket releases against the customer order board.  Validate orders in the system against customer order reports on a weekly basis.

  • Maintains accurate and organized order files, order acknowledgments and customer contact information, including ship-to addresses, auxiliaries and general system maintenance (mfg/pro).

  • Sole responsible for a defined customer portfolio including account management, communication and order intake

  • Reports sales trends and customer order activity to Sales, Marketing and other management on a monthly basis.  Assists with market and product forecasting as required

  • Acts as a backup function for dedicated Field Sales to reduce their administrative workload  and provides Sales with process and system training

  • Promotes customer satisfaction and achieves cycle time reduction through team-based problem solving

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or mechanical engineering degree or equivalent professional degree
  • Advanced English and German capabilities
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in order and export management
  • In depth knowledge of computerized order management processes and software programs
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Team-oriented problem solving skills and corrective action methodology
  • Training and development will be provided
  • Technical sales aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in creative problem solving, conflict resolution, and managing priorities.
