Production Associate Painter

Eaton Corporation Marina Power & Energy in Williamsburg, VA has an opening for Production Associate-Painter, 1st Shift. This position will receive work assignments from Supervisors, Production Coordinators, and/or internal customers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1.Will perform industrial painting and powder coat painting processes on production materials in accordance to specifications.
2.Will prepare material for painting operations by mixing coatings in proper quantities and viscosities; unpackages, cleans, moves, and jigs product as necessary.
3.Will apply specified coating to products. Utilizes print specification and appropriate measuring tools to perform work accurately and assure quality.
4.Will thoroughly clean all painting equipment as required to maintain in proper working order.
5.Will perform ongoing minor troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
6.Will also move material as needed to complete responsibilities using material handling carts. Will need lifting capabilities - 75 lbs.; push/pull 100lbs.
7.Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure quality criteria are met by review of documents, consciences assembly and proper employment of quality verification checklist.
8.Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers so as to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.
9.Perform assigned function from oral / written instructions, drawings, travel documents, manufacturing information, hand drawn layout request. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned function.
10.Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
11.Ensure all safety and industrial hygiene requirements are maintained.
12.Work from manufacturing information such as Kanban cards, MI’s, requisitions and oral or written instructions.
13.Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one’s function.
14.Perform Lean Initiatives.
15.Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.
16.Perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned.
17.Perform flexible assignments as required by the operation as volumes shift.
18.Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process.
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required, applicants without this will not be considered.

Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial manufacturing environment using Industrial powder paint systems utilizing and a paint air gun with textured paints.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop; squat; reach to or below shoulder level; lift; carry; push; pull; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to climb; and reach above shoulder level. The employee is regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull greater than 50 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception. The employee is frequently required to use color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to listen and regularly required to talk.
